Accessing Ratings and Research
Q. Do I need Adobe® Reader® to
view Moody's research?
A. Yes. You will need Adobe® Reader® to view Moody's
research either on screen or as fully formatted copies of written research.
Moody's supports Adobe® Reader® version 6 and higher.
To download a free copy of Adobe® Reader®, go to: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html
Q. Are Moody's ratings or research
recommendations to buy or sell securities?
A. No, our ratings and research are statements of opinion, and not
statements of fact or recommendations to buy, sell, or hold securities.
Ratings are independent opinions of the relative risk of a specific bond or
instrument. Bonds rated Aaa are not necessarily "better" or
"worse" than bonds rated Baa1. Our scale merely indicates that a
bond rated Baa1 in Moody’s opinion poses a higher credit risk than a bond
rated Aaa.
See Rating Definitions
to understand more about what ratings mean and how they are used.
Q. Does Moody’s only write English-language
documents?
A. Most of our publications are written in English. Moody's also has
regional and county specific sites which contain research written in
multiple languages. Regional sites include Moody’s Europe and Moody’s Asia.
Our multi-lingual associates in over 18 offices worldwide can assist you
with special interest enquiries. Visit Contacts and
speak with a Moody's representative nearest you.
Troubleshooting
Q. I have Adobe®
Reader® but I'm still getting an error. What's wrong?
A. If you can't open a document (the screen is white), your computer may be
experiencing difficulties opening large files. PDF files are quite large,
and can sometimes be slow to open. Select Back on your browser and attempt
to open the file again.
You may wish to restart your computer or check with your technical support
staff to ensure that you have the latest edition of Adobe®
Reader®.
Q. What should I do if I can't access
information on the site?
A. If research is not accessible or you see an error message, try clicking
"Refresh". This will clear the memory cache on your Internet
browser.
If the problem persists, go to the Contacts section
of our site and send an email to Moody’s Online.
Be sure to include as much information as you can about the problem
including:
- A detailed problem
description
- How we can recreate the problem
- Your Internet browser and
version (e.g. Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator )
- Your operating system and
version (e.g. Windows 2000)
- The time or time period in
which the problem occurred.

compatible with this site?

test, you will receive a report with information on your system
configuration. You can mail this report to Moody's Web Support and our
support team will be more easily able to diagnose your problem.
Q. I just tried to search for a rating and I
couldn’t find it, what do I do?
A. You may want to try varying your search terms, or the spelling of the
name. If you are using a CUSIP number, make sure you select
"CUSIP" in the drop-down box. In some cases Moody's may not rate
the obligation in which you are interested.
If you still can't find the rating you need, please visit Contacts and
speak with the Moody's representative nearest you.
Q. I saw a document here a few days ago but now
I can’t find it, why not?
A. Moody's posts its rating action announcements on its website for three
days. After three days, such documents are archived and are accessible only
to clients of our Global Credit Research program. Please visit Products
and Services for more information on becoming a client.
Q. I see
instead of next to a document, what does that mean?
A. If you see instead of next to a document title, it means that
you currently do not have access to that document. Some of our content is
only accessible by clients of our Global Credit Research program. Please
visit Products and Services for more information on becoming a client.
